The Volcom story starts back in 1991 with two guys called Richard Woolcott and Tucker Hall. On a snowboard trip to Tahoe the two riders decided to start a clothing company that encompassed all the things that fitted their passion of snowboarding.

Volcom clothing was born and with the help of $5000 from Richard's Dad they started one of the best clothing brands out there. The Volcom Idea was 'Youth against establishment' at a time when Snowboarding and skateboarding where looked down on by the man in America. There were the LA Riots, the first Gulf War and Nirvana and Pearl Jam were doing their thing on the music scene.
