In 1990 Quiksilver was a highly successful men's surf brand, but they strongly believed that female surfers had long deserved an authentic surf brand of their own. The ladies surf company Roxy was born, and in the summer of 1990 a range of Roxy swimwear was released with immediate success. By 1992 a full range of Roxy surf clothing and snow wear pieces was available. The following year the Roxy logo as we know it was created. Adapted from the Quiksilver wave and mountain logo, the Roxy heart shape was formed from two Quiksilver logos joined together
